Yearbook meeting 2

Present: Beth, Baljeet, Sarah, Lisa, Maya, Lottie and Alix

Items discussed:

The yearbook committee outlined the following design elements:
Colour scheme: white, grey and lime/yellow green.
Aesthetic: clean, industrial. Lots of white space
They expressed the need for the content to be more personalised than the previous years book.

The intended use of the printed fold down poster is to promote the students during their end of year show and exhibition at Free Range. They also wanted the print to serve as a keepsake of the graduating year.

I asked Alison for an example of a Architectural drawing which later proved a turning point as we used this concept to drive the whole brief.

We discussed the possibility of extending our design work beyond the yearbook brief to help design elements for the end of year exhibitions.

Image file formats: these need to be confirmed with the mac technicians, decisions will be made once the design team have evaluated sample images.

All final written information to be added to the yearbook must be supplied by the 15th March 2013

The final deadline for submitting work samples for the yearbook will be the 10th April 2013

Actions to be taken:

The Interior Design yearbook committee needs to confirm the following with Steve:

The addition of more personalized content & course info to the body copy. The copy will need to be typed, proofread and approved by marketing, before being supplied to the design team.
The addition of photographs of the students to the PDF spreads.

The Yearbook committee agreed to send some sample images to the design team as soon as possible (by Wednesday next week if possible) so we can evaluate the quality and put together some sample layouts. These do not need to be the final images they want to include in the yearbook.
