Brief 1 Brands/Culture

Brief 1 was born out of my dissertation research and my son's wardrobe.  I am keen to extend the exploration of the relationships of Brands with culture and young people. the fact that Vans are made in Vietnam yet teenagers still associate the brand with Skateboarding and the USA.  In context of Adorno's culture Industry and Klein's No Logo.  This brief will not be 'solving' a problem or answering a question as such but will aim to mediate or make sense of a 'space' between a teenagers, culture and the Brands they wear.  Just make people think or ask questions.

It could be a device for opening up the whole conversation of Brands between parent and children.

It could be creating wallpaper clothes tags, posters aimed at young people.

The outcome will be open ended at the moment as I want the research to drive this brief to see where it leads me.
