The site has been developed to help comapnies and individuals understand where the raw materials and products are sourced in the supply chain. This is an example of where Nike source their raw materials
Do consumers have a responsibility to know that their products are made ethically?
Foxconn (in China)manufactures over 50 percent of the world’s electronic devices for companies like Microsoft, Samsung and Apple. Conditions are so bad that a spike of suicides plagued the company in 2011. Because suicides are so common, the company placed nets around buildings to prevent people from jumping.
The life of a t-shirt
This describes the long, hazardous (for the workers involved) journey of a t shirt...from cotten field to gin to spinner to the loom to dying/treating to garment factory to clothing company to store.
